Sokoban lessons - Beautiful arrangements: Sokoban Perfect

I publish here a small selection of the most beautiful arrangements of "Sokoban Perfect" (1989).

I exclude the arrangements from the "Original" collection, which I will publish in another post.

You can download all puzzles here:

Author: unknown (Thinking Rabbit) + Jordi Domènech + David Holland
Title: Sokoban Perfect #29 a13
First release: Sokoban 2 (1984) #36; then in Sokoban Perfect (1989).
Comment:
JD: major changes: arranged the whole structure of the map
DH: added 7 boxes
Date: 1984. Remodel: 2010.7.6 (JD), 2010.7.14 (DH)
URL: groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/sokoban/conversations/topics/3715
Difficulty: 7
Best moves/pushes: 2745/691 (Findus)

You will have to sweat to undo the knot of the central area and place the first box...

Author: Yasuhiro Morita + York Shen + stopheart
Title: Sokoban Perfect #33 (b)
Date: 1989. Remodel: c. 2003 (YS), c. November 2005 (stopheart)
Comment:
YS: added 3 boxes
stopheart: added 4 boxes and changed 2 walls for boxes, stoned 3 floors and added 2 walls
Difficulty: 7
Best moves/pushes: 705/219

Difficult! stopheart has extracted oil from a structure seemingly without possibilities.

See also MF8 29th Sokoban Competition, remodeled by stopheart, more difficult and with a structure very extended.

Author: unknown (Thinking Rabbit) + monry + hir
Title: Sokoban Perfect #64
First release: Namida no Sokoban Special (1986) #40; then in Sokoban Perfect (1989).
Date: 1986. Remodel: 1998.10.24 (monry), 1998.10.27 (hir)
Comment:
monry: added 1 box, two subtle changes at the top and right
hir: added 1 box
Difficulty: 6
Best moves/pushes: 2091/506 (Ficko)

The original level is very beautiful, but without difficulty. The arrangements of monry + hir have given the level an unexpected difficulty.

Author: Yoshiki Kondo + Jordi Domènech + David Holland + minglw + stopheart

Title: Sokoban Perfect #84 c1
First release: Sokoban (1985, Sega) #74; then in Sokoban Perfect (1989).
Comment:
JD: added 1 box, moved 3 walls of the right half to the left half, some changes at the top

Hard! The difficulty of this arrangement is that it forces to keep open the way in the entire circuit, to place the box in the top right.

Nice level "two rows".

stopheart: added 4 boxes, changed a box for wall

Comment: added 1 box

Difficulty: 6.5
Best moves/pushes: 2073/620

This is another beautiful level of Sokoban Perfect. The version of York Shen only adds a box, but greatly complicates their solution.

Comment:
JD: added 1 box (goal in L10)

Difficult arrangement. Přemysl has found free spaces where there seem to be no. My rating difficulty: 7.

This is one of my favorite arrangements. Difficult storage. This arrangement is almost identical to the previous arrangement of GRIGoRusha (version c, 2004.1.7; see Remodel Club #58): the only difference is that in this version of zhenying has moved a box to I4. Is likely that zhenying did not know the earlier arrangement of GRIGoRusha.

Author: unknown (Thinking Rabbit) + GRIGoRusha
Title: Sokoban Perfect #280 b
First release: Sokoban 2 (1984) #49; then in Sokoban Perfect (1989).
Comment: added 2 boxes, 4 walls
Date: 1984. Remodel: 2004.1.7 (Remodel Club #59)
Difficulty: 7
Best moves/pushes: 3219/1210 (sokobano)

Another classic level of Sokoban Perfect. This arrangement of GRIGoRusha is very tight.

Author: unknown (Thinking Rabbit) + York Shen + zhenying
Title: Sokoban Perfect #302 a-6
First release: Sokoban 2 (1984) #50; then in Sokoban Perfect (1989).
Comment:
YS: added 1 box
zhenying: deleted 1 wall, major changes on top, rearranged 8 goals
Date: 1984. Remodel: 2007.1.27 (YS), 2007.2.3 (zhenying)
URL: blog.163.com/changkai_8428/blog/static/7745191820111194750560/
Difficulty: 7
Best moves/pushes: 3065/984

Original level divided into two parts, and in which we must move the boxes from one part to another. It can be speculated that the author of this excellent level of old look is the same as that of the previous level (SP #302), since they were published consecutively in Sokoban 2 (1984).

Author: Masaki Ishino + York Shen
Title: Sokoban Perfect #306 b-2
Comment: rearranged 9 goals
Date: 1989. Remodel: c. February 2007
Difficulty: 7.5
Best moves/pushes: 8168/1904 (Findus)

It is the last level of Sokoban Perfect and one of the most difficult and arduous to solve in this collection. This version of York Shen change of place 9 goals, which obliges to use the storage area for storing some boxes on an interim basis, and forced to move the boxes by two rows of the storage area (exits out a box at the bottom, comes inside another box above).

  1. Lovely site, and very imformative. I wonder if you can help me - I am trying to find complete sets of original levels from the Revenge and Perfect collections. From a comment on your blog it could be that they are omitted for size reasons?

    1. Hello. The Thinking Rabbit collections Sokoban Perfect (1989) and Sokoban Revenge(1991) have 306 puzzles each collection. Thinking Rabbit (https://sokoban.jp/) is the Copyright owner of these collections. You can find commercial versions of these games on the Internet.
I do not know if it is possible to buy, outside of Japan, the game Sokoban Perfect Plus (2015) (https://sokoban.jp/products/perfectplus/), which contains 400 selected puzzles from the old SP and SR collections.
